Ed Clough – Trombone, Low Brass

Ed
Clough has an A.A. in Music Performance and has studied trombone
with Ronald Barron, William Harris, and members of Empire Brass.
In 1986 he was one of the founding members of Boston Brass, a
professional touring ensemble based in Boston. By 2006, Boston
Brass was performing more than 100 concerts a year and as many as
50 master-classes in both high schools and colleges as performing
artists with Conn-Selmer Corporation. Ed can be heard as the
trombonist on the 14 records he has recorded with Boston Brass
ranging from classical tunes like "Within Earshot" and "Stealing
the Show" to jazz pieces such as "Ya Gotta Try" and "Christmas
Bells are Swinging." Ed also has a long history teaching students
of all ages. He has taught individual lessons for beginners to
college age performance majors. He says he likes to use “music
theory, history, and even singing to give his students a complete
grasp of music performance”. His freelance experience ranges from
classical orchestra and chamber music to jazz and pit orchestras
to R&B bands. He is currently freelancing, teaching, and laying
the foundations for a new ensemble that will perform brass music
in New England.
Bonnie Cochran – Flute

Ms. Cochran is a Boston area flutist, composer, and teacher. An
avid chamber musician, Bonnie founded The Amaryllis Chamber
Ensemble in 2000 and performs regularly with them. She has also
performed with the New Bedford Symphony, Willow Flute Ensemble,
Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, Metrowest Symphony, the National
Flute Association (NFA) Profession Flute Choir, and in musical
theater productions with Boston Theatre Works and Bay Colony
Productions.
Andrew Dole – Drums

Mr. Dole earned a Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of
Music where he studied with Steve Wilks, John Rasmay and Jackie
Santos. He has also studied privately with drum educator and
author Gary Chaffee. He has recorded and toured nationally with
singer/songwriter Aaron Katz of Percy Hill and is currently
recording and performing with the Boston Indie rock band Bon
Savants.
Bill Fanning - Trumpet

Mr. Fanning is a graduate of Westfield State College. He
studied trumpet with Bobby Shew and played in the Navy Band.
He earned a Masters Degree in Performance from New England
Conservatory. As a free lance musician he worked for five
years in Nashville, TN and more recently in Boston. He has
performed with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and the Artie Shaw
Orchestra. He performs regularly with the Worcester Jazz
Orchestra.

Michelle Gorgone - Clarinet
Ms. Gorgone received her Bachelor of Music Education, with
Clarinet as her major instrument, Summa Cum Laude from the
University of Rhode Island. She performed with the URI Symphony
Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. Ms. Gorgone
also performed extensively with many chamber ensembles. She
currently teaches instrumental music in the Hudson Public schools
and with the Hudson Arts Alliance.
Scott Graves - Clarinet, Saxophone

Scott Graves has spent a career in the music industry as a
performer, educator and entrepreneur. He has worked as an
instructor in both the public and private sector for 15 years. For
ten of those years Mr. Graves maintained a roster of 70 woodwind
students in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He has extensive
experience as a performing artist having worked with numerous
regional jazz and pop groups and in theatrical reviews. He
currently performs with the commercial band, ‘Mirage’. Most
recently Mr. Graves was Executive Director of the Thayer Symphony
Orchestra and Community Music School where he played an integral
role in developing a comprehensive curriculum that included music
therapy and an early childhood development program. He is also
known for his work as a founding member of Tangent Innovations, a
New Hampshire-based consulting firm specializing in marketing
development for clients in both the for-profit and non-profit
sector. Scott is pleased to be joining David French Music as a
private instructor and outside sales representative. His positive
style of instruction utilizes a goal-driven approach that
continues to prove successful for students with a wide range of
musical interests and tastes.
David Handrick - Clarinet, Saxophone

Mr. Handrick holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Berklee
College of Music in Boston. He has been teaching students in both
private and group lessons for over fifteen years. Mr. Handrick is
also a freelance musician and has performed with the Claflin Hill
Summer Winds, the Second Story Band, the Metro Saxophone Quartet,
The Fantasy Big Band, and other various theaters and
organizations.
Mark Holovnia - Drums

Mr. Holovnia has studied drumming with Alan Dawson and Jeff
Hamilton. He performs on the West Coast as a free lance
musician, where he appeared with Columbia Artists' Tribute to
Glenn Miller featuring the Modernaires, Dick Haymes Jr., and Beryl
Davis. Mr. Holovnia has also performed with the Woody Herman
Orchestra, the Four Freshman, Buddy DeFranco, Kay Starr, Margaret
Whiting, and Frankie Laine. He is also on the faculty for
the "Jazz in July" Summer Music Program at the
University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Patricia Lake - Horn

Patricia began her musical journey working with children in
1993 after attending UMass Lowell as a Music Education/Performance
Major. She has studied with Chloe Nestor, Jeanne Paella, and Ellen
Michaud-Martins. Patricia is a founding member of the Brass
Canticle Quintet, Sounds of Stowe, and the UMass Lowell Summer
Concert Band. She is also a member of “Esprit de Cor” based in
Lexington, MA, and has recently begun collaborating with a brand
new - as yet unnamed - woodwind quintet based in Concord , MA. She
currently holds the position of Horn 3 in Symphony Pro Musica, and
is the originator of Symphony Pro Musica’s “Pied Piper Project”, a
partnership with local schools that provides master classes and
free tickets to Symphony Pro Musica performances for students in
the area. Along with her musical accomplishments and work as a
freelance musician, Patricia (Mrs. Patti) is also a self-employed
Early Childhood Music & Movement Specialist holding teacher
certifications within several curricula and the Early Childhood
Music and Movement Association.
Pete Levesque - Saxophone

Mr. Levesque has 17 years of experience as a professional
musician and educator. He studied saxophone with Lynn Klock,
Jerry Bergonzi and George Garzone. He has performed with The
Temptations, Frankie Valli, The Four Tops, George Garzone, Matt
"Guitar" Murphy and Bob Gullotti. He has performed
and recorded extensively with The Gonsalas Family, a touring
gospel group. Formerly, Mr. Levesque was music coordinator
for and taught general music at St. Catherine's School in Norwood.
Tom Lubelczyk - Guitar

Mr.
Lubelczyk earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from UMass/Lowell
where he studied string bass with Boston Pops bassist Mark Henry.
He has studied a variety of musical genres ranging from jazz to
Indian music with teachers that include John Lockwood, Walter
Platt, Rick Schilling, and Warren Senders among others. He has
freelanced with many Southern New England jazz artists and has
shared the stage with world renowned jazz artists such as Chick
Corea, Garry Burton, and Tito Puente. From 2004 to 2007 he focused
his efforts on original composition and led his own group
AmericanMusicRevolution.com. The jazz fusion quartet performed
throughout New England and produced many recordings that found an
audience worldwide. His most recent project is an Irish folk trio
called Fergus. The group has been performing tirelessly since
forming in the summer of 2007. Their list of credits include
sharing the stage with such international acts as Rattle the
Boards and Lunasa, as well as performing with Benny McCarthy
(accordion) and Oisin McCauley (fiddle), both from the group Danu.

Katherine A. McWilliams - Bassoon, Oboe, Double Reed

Mrs. McWilliams holds a Bachelor of Music in Bassoon
Performance from University of Lowell, MA where she studied with
Donald Bravo. She also holds a Master of Music in Woodwind
Performance from Boston University where she studied with Matthew
Ruggiero. She had extensive orchestral training following her
graduate program in Boston when she traveled to Los Angeles. In
Los Angeles, she was a scholarship recipient for two summers in
the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute under the direction of
Michael Tilson Thomas and Andre Previn. Currently, Mrs. McWilliams
has extensive professional orchestral, opera, chamber music, and
theater experience and can be seen performing with The Boston
Lyric Opera, The National Lyric Opera, The Company Theater, The
Bay Colony Theater, Trinity Church in Copley Square, and The New
England Philharmonic where she is also their Personnel Manager.
You will also find Mrs. McWilliams teaching in the Westwood
Prodigy Program and at Ashland High School.
Jessica Popik - Clarinet

Jessica
Popik holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of
Massachusetts at Lowell in Music Performance. While attending
school she performed with the UMass Lowell Wind Ensemble as the
principal clarinetist, the UMass Lowell Mixed Chamber Ensemble,
the UMass Lowell University Orchestra and the UMass Lowell Concert
Band. She is also the section leader for the All-City Wind
Ensemble in the Lowell area. Jessica is currently an instrumental
instructor teaching clarinet students for both the Chelmsford
Public School System and Westminster Elementary School. She also
teaches during the summer at the University of Massachusetts
Lowell Symphonic Band Camp.
Dawn Provost - Cello

Dawn
began teaching in high school as an assistant to the elementary
school string teacher. Upon graduation in 1997, she attended
Houghton College as a Music Education major, later switching to a
Bachelor of Music in String Bass, with a minor in Cello and an
emphasis in Philosophy. She has studied with Donald Howey, Barry
Boettger, and Robert Zimmerman. She currently plays with Symphony
Pro Music of Hudson, where she holds the principal bass position.
She has been teaching locally since 2002. Apart from her duties as
a teacher, she also works part-time as her church's administrative
assistant, teaches 7th & 8th grade Sunday School, and enjoys
riding her motorcycle.
Bob Simonelli - Piano

Mr. Simonelli has worked as a solo pianist and led his own
combo in numerous venues around central New England. He has
studied jazz piano with Dick Odgren, saxophone and arranging with
Henry "Boots" Mussulli. He has also played
saxophone in many area jazz and dance bands working in a variety
of orchestras and groups doing floor shows and musicals. Mr.
Simonelli has taught private piano students since 1975.
Dr. Luis Torres - Viola, Violin, Piano

Dr. Torres has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and a Masters
Degree in Musicology from the University of Azuay in Cuenca,
Ecuador. He earned his Doctorate in Education from Army
Polytechnic in Quito, Ecuador. He has taught violin and
piano at Cuenca National Conservatory of Music and the University
of Azuay. Dr. Torres is active as a violinist, composer and
conductor in the Central Massachusetts area. He also teaches
violin at the Thayer Community Music School, Atlantic Union
College Conservatory and the Performing Arts School of Worcester.
Mark Weissman - Saxophone

Mark Weissman holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from
Westfield State College and a Master's degree in Jazz Composition
and Arranging from UMASS at Amherst. He performs on soprano, alto,
tenor and baritone saxophones as well as flute. He has studied
under saxophone greats Yusef Lateef, Ted Levine and Jerry Bergonzi
and has performed along side some of the giants of jazz including
Cecil Bridgewater, Mulgrew Miller, Vanessa Ruben, Antonio Hart and
the Mingus Big Band from NYC. Mark is currently a member of the
prestigious United States Air Force Band of Liberty where he tours
and performs throughout New England. In addition, Mark is a highly
respected freelance musician who also performs frequently around
Worcester and Boston.
Bryan Wrenn – Guitar

Bryan
Wrenn has played guitar for over twelve years and has a Master's
Degree in Guitar Performance from the New England Conservatory of
Music, where he studied with world renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk.
Prior to his time at NEC, he attended Assumption College in
Worcester, MA, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and studied
classical guitar with Peter Clemente. He has also studied electric
guitar and jazz theory/improvisation with Joe D’Angelo and Steve
Trombley. In addition to his private studies, he has performed in
master classes for Pepe Romero, Benjamin Verdery, Jason Vieaux,
and Lorenzo Micheli. He works frequently as a soloist, having
played in numerous venues throughout New England, including
Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. He has also performed as an
orchestral guitarist throughout central Massachusetts for such
groups as the Worcester Jazz Orchestra, Wachusett Theater Company,
Foothills Theater, Theater at the Mount, and Worcester County
Light Opera.
